The Gathering of Greatness
Each year, the Black Women Breakthrough: SOULpowerment Summit feels like coming home. Presented by Soul Movement Success, this virtual gathering brings together Black women across generations and geographical regions to share stories of purpose, perseverance, and power. It’s more than an event, it’s a movement of women who are ready to thrive year-round and become living examples of “Black Women Excellence.”
Behind the Screens
For the past three years, I’ve had the honor of supporting this powerful summit through my virtual event coordination services. This year, I managed the day-of guest and speaker communication, coordinated tech checks, and ensured that each segment flowed seamlessly. I also provided digital content services, editing the recorded sessions for the client’s archives, helping preserve every moment of wisdom and inspiration shared.
Every virtual summit comes with its fair share of surprises. Technical hiccups are inevitable, whether it’s internet issues, poor lighting, or a speaker’s computer deciding to update at the worst possible time. To stay ahead, I decided to try something a little different this year. I hosted detailed walkthroughs with all the speakers before the event and worked closely with the client to develop a backup plan for any last-minute issues. On the day of, constant communication was key. By staying connected with each upcoming speaker, we created a steady rhythm that kept the energy flowing and the summit on track.
The Ripple Effect
Having worked with this event for three consecutive years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing its evolution, watching it reach more women, grow in impact, and touch more hearts across the nation. Each year, the summit creates new connections and strengthens old ones, reminding us all of the power that exists when Black women gather with intention.
What stands out most to me is the transformation I’ve seen in participants over time. Watching women set goals one year and return the next, having achieved them, it’s a full-circle kind of joy. To witness their confidence, growth, and renewed purpose reminds me exactly why I do this work. The Black Women Breakthrough: SOULpowerment Summit isn’t just an event, it’s evidence of what happens when purpose meets preparation and when community meets care.
