Some celebrations are more than parties, they are milestones, symbols of growth, and reflections of all the beauty yet to come. That’s exactly what my client wanted for her birthday dinner. With the theme “En Bloom,” she envisioned a gathering filled with florals to signify how her life is blossoming and all the great things still on the horizon.The guest list included her closest circle of friends and family, those who have walked alongside her, and she wanted each of them to know just how much they mean to her.
The Role of DTM
I had the honor of planning, coordinating, and managing the dinner from start to finish. From designing a tablescape that reflected the season and the client’s vision, to creating custom favors and name cards, my focus was on curating a thoughtful and memorable experience.
Tablescape Design: Restaurant dinners come with their own unique challenges, especially when it comes to making décor feel seamless in the space. To ensure everything aligned, I studied the location’s color scheme and aesthetic in advance, designing a tablescape that both fit the restaurant and added something special for the occasion.
Personal Touches: The most meaningful details are often the smallest ones. My client prepared heartfelt letters for each guest, and I created an elegant wax-sealed display with personalized envelopes that doubled as name cards. Guests were also gifted custom party favors, mini wine bottles topped with floral bouquets to match the En Bloom theme, keepsakes that honored the evening long after it ended.
The Best Part
As with every dinner party I design, my favorite moment comes after all the planning, décor, and coordination fall into place. It’s that moment when the table erupts with laughter, when stories are shared, and when memories are created. That’s when I know all the work was worth it, because at the heart of every event is the joy of bringing people together.
